Crash in coverflow view

Post by jyhem »

Hi,

When I choose the coverflow mode with all my library (more than 1800 items),
the cursor is turning endless with the colour weeling, and the application doesn't
respond anymore (the process is at 9x% of CPU, and I have to kill it).

After that, I have to backup a previous library (thanks to time machine  ),
because the option view stays in coverflow mode ...

I run on Mac Pro 2008, 2 Go RAM, Leopard 10.5.3

Thanks for fixing that.

The cover flow is multi-threaded as 1800 images is a lot of resources, they are also loaded on a needed basis so there should be no slow down. What you describe sound like an endless loop bug. I know it's a bit to ask as you will have to retrieve another backup to recover (create a copy of the Database.pediadata to be safe); but, if you could send us a sample of what the computer is doing when it gets stuck, that would be very useful. Use the program Activity Monitor select our program and use the Sample button on the toolbar that will create a report to save as a file to attach to an email.

Yes, I know it's a lot of data to treat,
a simple thing to prevent the database "corrupted" after that could be the inscription of the mode view only if this view succeed, at the end of the viewing.

I've made the operation, with a copy of the database before, and I've e-mail the report.
Thanks in advance.
