BookPedia: Dewey Decimal not sorting correctly

I absolutely love this program, with one exception: I use Dewey Decimal (DDC) for my collection and am very disappointed in the lack of meaningful sorting ability for that field.

For example, in one section of the library, here is a sampling of how it is sorted:
811.4
811.008
811.52
811.54
811.520801

later on:
821.7
821.8
821.008
821.8
821.8
821.009
821.709
821.808


Those should be in this order:
811.008
811.4
811.52
811.520801
811.54

later on:
821.008
821.009
821.7
821.709
821.8
821.808


I've tried clicking the column headers, holding command, holding option, holding control...and nothing fixes it. It seems as though BookPedia doesn't understand the nested/built numbers of DDC. I can't even get it to sort correctly when exporting or printing.

Is there a fix?

Thank you. I tried it, but I get the same problem. Also, the beta is missing the column headers. I can't toggle sorting. I sorted through my existing version, then reopened the beta, but no fix.

Thank you for the information on the column headers. I've been doing some unrelated work in that area that might not be ready yet. Are you running Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger? With the beta you would need to click on another column and then back on the dewey column to get the fixed sorting, which you can't do without the header. I'll post here once I finish the work on the new header.

As I suspected it's a 10.4 thing. Tiger testing is one of the final stages of the beta and hasn't been done. Here is a new version that should have a header (you won't be able to use the "remove this column" contextual menu command in this version).

I just updated to 4.3 (didn't check the thread for replies before BookPedia gave me an update notice) and it appears that the bug has been fixed!
