DVDpedia: Director of Photography

I just noticed that there is no field for the director of photography. So, if I make my own custom field for that, is there a way to poll that info from IMDB to add to my movie entries *without changing any other of my carefully handknitted data*? Because ... I changed some stuff that's wrong at IMDB (a LOT!) and don't particularly feel the urge to reedit 500+ entries ...

DVDpedia will never edit data that already exist when adding extra information (it will append to the credits if the credit doesn't already exist.) However to add the director of photography into a custom field you would have to create your own custom version of the IMDb plug-in. If you have the developer tools installed on your computer we can provide you with the source code so that you can modify it to add that particular information.

Oh ... you are serious.

I guess I could install the developer tools. Should I take them from the DVD that came with my Mac, or is there an option to download the latest version directly?

Thing is ... I am not a developer, so ... will I be able to manage without blowing up my office?
