CDPedia: Import Large Collection

I'd like to import a large CD collection into CDPedia. The collection of 5000 CDs is stored on an external USB drive in a variety of formats ripped from the CDs, and arranged in folders (A-C, D-F, etc.).

When I use CDPedia's File/Import Collection some folders are successfully imported after a minute or two. But some cause the programme to crash. Is there a limit or set criteria that apply to the import function, or an alternative way of (quickly!) importing the library?

Is this extensive CD collection also in  Music App (iTunes) ? if so you can import from there.
