Bookpedia editing smart collection becomes unresponsive

Post by AarbronBeast »

I am using Bookpedia 5.4.2 on an Early 2009 Mac Pro running macOS 10.11.6
Note: I haven't tested this bug in the other pedias.

Instructions:
-Create a smart collection.
-Set the first criteria to Paid is greater than 0
-Set the second criteria to Date Added is after Jul 26, 2016
-Click OK to save.
-Right click the new smart collection and edit.
-Change the second criteria from "Date Added" to "Title"

At this point, the criteria sheet has started bugging. i.e. Cannot click on any of the criteria text to edit anything. The drop downs still appear to work at first glance, but they don't affect anything. The "-" and "+" buttons still seem to kind of work, but clicking on them causes the window size to change and their appearance becomes corrupted and sheet contents get clipped. Cannot dismiss the sheet at all. Must Force Quit the application.

Thank you so much for the clear and precise steps and instructions. Quickly reproduced and now fixed in the Bookpedia beta.

The issue was it's trying to translate the date "Jul 26, 2016" into a string to look for in title and it can't do that. Now it clears the field when switching from a date to a string field.

Would affect all of them, all other betas are also updated. Download URL would be what you would guess at from the Bookpedia link above.
