file couldn't be opened on 5.3.1 after switching databases

I maintain a separate database for Vinyl and CD. After updating to 5.3.1 (from 5.2.??), I changed to my Vinyl database and when I used the Option-Start to switch back I received the "file couldn't be opened" error. Now, any attempt to open my CD or Vinyl database results in this error. I have been running Mavericks for several months now and the old version of CDpedia was working fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have lost access to both of my databases - CDs and Vinyl.

Your are describing a Maverick's bug, that should have had a workaround in version 5.3.1. Do please try the beta version. If that does not fix the issue please email me both Database.cdpd file from each data folder so that I can take a look at them and diagnose the problem.

The beta version returns the error - Error during persistent store migration.

I will move on to getting the Database.cdpd file to you soon.
