Amazon Search doesn't work!

Post by bagnole2 »

I have the latest Bookpedia version (4.5.1) and I can't use the Amazon Search anymore. Has anyone else have the same issue!
Is there any solution to it?

Could you let us know what your searching for and please take a look at your console log with the program of the same name in your utilities folder and send me the error messages from Bookpedia (newer messages will be at the bottom of the log).

I was looking for an Author (Julia Navarro) and here is the message from the console:

7/27/09 6:36:58 AM Bookpedia[158] Amazon Search Error: RequestExpired = Request has expired. Timestamp date is 2009-07-27T13:36:58Z.

Thanks!

The new signed requests for the Amazon API require a time stamp. The error means the time stamps is no longer valid (the time stamp is valid for 15 minutes). Please check your system clock and settings in System Preferences --> Date & TIme to make sure both your clock and time zone are correct. For the clock you can use the "set date & time automatically" option to sync with an Apple internet clock, for the time zone click on your city.

If all your settings are correct and your getting the same error please download and run this version that will print more information into the console log. Please try it a couple of times and send me the new console log messages as well as what time it currently was (according to an external clock, not your computer) and the city and country you live in. The time stamp is based on GMT time so it could be a time zone issue.

Thank You! Indeed, I started using bootcamp and it changed the time. Now it works.
