Hi there,
The pedias exclude English articles such as "the" and "a" when sorting alphabetically. I was wondering if it is possible to add foreign language articles (such as the German "der", "die", "das", or the French "le", "la", "les") to the list of articles that is disregarded when sorting information alphabetically?
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
Foreign Language Articles
Re: Foreign Language Articles
Hi Flame,
Thank you for the feedback. You will find the option to ignore German and French articles in the "Preferences" pane in the menu. There is a check box with "Ignore Foreign Articles". It used to be based on your locale, but a lot users still use the Pedias in English even though they are in Germany or France and hence where having trouble with things like "Die Hard" being ignored in Germany and it became a preference.
For flexibility you can customize any sorting as well by turning on the "Sort Title" field in the same preferences pane under fields. For any title you would like to do something special on you would fill out the sort title. For example to "Die Hard" to keep Die Hard with the Ds or "Miserables" to move "Les Miserables" to the Ms. You can also do things like "Twenty-four" to move "24" to the Ts. When sort title is empty, it will default to the regular sorting of the title.
