Hello.
I've just crashed my HD.
My Bookpedia is lost on my mac, ... but it's still alive in my iPhone and iPad.
But when i sync the content of my iPad with my band new one database in my mac using the sync button, there's no sync but a write from my mac to my iPad library.
So, how can i push my iPhone data of my Pocketpedia library to my mac ?
Thanks and regards from france
Restore Pocketpedia data to Bookpedia
Re: Restore Pocketpedia data to Bookpedia
It's possible to import your data from Pocketpedia to Bookpedia but it's not really meant as a 'backup' so it won't be a perfect replica of your database but this is what you have to do:
Run Bookpedia on your Mac and Pocketpedia on your iPhone, hold down the Option key and go into the Help menu to reveal a hidden 'Pocketpedia' menu and select it. Then, again with the Option key held down, press the 'Import' button in that window. Now go to Pocketpedia and press the 'Sync' button. The sync will automatically initiate and download into Bookpedia.
Because this is not really a feature, it's not all that perfect. You won't get any images for your entries since they get compressed to a very small size in Pocketpedia (you'll have to either use the 'Download from' command found under the contextual menu in the cover image well at the bottom left of the main window or, even better, use the little gear button in the edit window to download advanced info and cover image for each entry). Also, if you had excluded collections in Pocketpedia then some entries might appear as duplicates in Bookpedia so you'll have to use the 'Show duplicates' command to weed those out.
Let me know if you have any further questions about the import or run into any trouble.
