testing links in DVDpedia

Post by Ted L. Nancy »

I have made some changes to some of my VIDEO_TS directories, and would like to see if I updated everything in DVDpedia correctly. I think I covered it all, but is there a way to efficiently test to see if all my links listed in DVDpedia are valid? I don't need to actually open the links, I only need to see if the directories I linked to actually exist.

Hi Ted,

There currently is no way to automatically validate all the links but since it is a good idea I have added it as a hidden command. Download DVDpedia beta 32 and then hold down the option key and click on the main help menu, there will be an option to validate the links. If some files are not located DVDpedia will create a new collection and place any entries it was unable to locate the link for in that collection. Be sure to mount any necessary external hard drives and or network media that contains files before running the command.

Incredible. Thank you.

Found about a dozen entries that needed to be fixed. Couldn't have done it without this feature. Awesome.

Neat. This feature might have given me a reason to download a post-4.6.1 beta. 8)
