I am switching over from DVD Cache and everything imported great, (I used the actual xml file rather than export and imparting.) but I have some errors I need to fix. For example some movies have two discs or the summary is wrong. So I just need it to run out to the web, find that correct info and replace it. Can I?
Summary;
How can I select the fields I want it to search the web for and replace?
How can I have a movie's info be updated?
What do I do if it just doesn't do anything? (I've tried the pull-down that searches IMDB or the like but it doesn't change anything. If I do a new search for the movie, it finds it and it has all the correct info - but I just want to update, not search for everything again.)

Welcome to DVDpedia! To update information for an entry, delete the information from those fields you want to update first and then use the little gear button in the add/edit window to choose a site for information gathering. (DVDpedia will never overwrite information already present, that's why you have to delete those fields first.)
If you have several entries where you don't like the summary or simply want to update information, select all the entries and choose 'Edit' to bring up a multiple edit window. That way you can clear the fields for all the entries at once.
You can also do batch queries for advanced information via the Advanced menu > Get advanced info command. However the advantage of using the gear button in the add/edit window is that if there is more than one result returned, you'll get to see all the options and can choose the correct one. Unlike the advanced menu option which will automatically choose the first result returned. This is not a problem if the entry has a unique identifier such as the ASIN when using the Amazon sites.
If DVDpedia doesn't find information for a movie on the advanced search, could you send us a dcard of that file so we can take a look at the entry here, see what's causing the trouble during the search? You can create a dcard by dragging the entry from the table view to your Desktop. That'll create a dcard file which can easily be attached to an email. You'll find our email on the support page. (We don't post it here for spam control.)
