help

Post by zpearce »

I have the Pocketpedia app on my 3g iPhone and I had hust finished cataloging my entire dvd collection last night and was going to filter it by blu-ray to make sure I had all of them included. It brought up a list of the blu-rays and now that is the only thing in my collection. Is there a way to turn off the filter and get my list back because I really don't feel like adding 500+ movies again. When I look them up on Amagon theought the app, they are still stared like they've been added. please help.

As you you have experienced, there was a bug in Pocketpedia that could result in the collection remaining filtered. This is fixed in version 1.1.2. of Pocketpedia. But to get your entries back to you please send us your Pocketpedia database. To do this you are going to need access to a Mac. Download any of our programs (DVDpedia will do) and while holding down the option key select Pocketpedia from the under the Help menu. Then connect your iPhone to the same wireless network as the Mac and in Pocketpedia under the root collection you should see a sync button. Pressing the sync button will transfer a copy of your database to the Mac's desktop and name it PocketpediaBackup.sql. Email us this file and we will fix it and send it back to you.

You only need access to the Mac for a few minutes, 5 at the most. Maybe a friend or at work? Otherwise stop the first Mac user you see on the street, we are a friendly bunch and are willing to help.

What I did not mention is you can also do a restore from backup if you haven't yet synced your iPhone with your computer. Connect your iPhone and cancel the sync, then in iTunes right click on the name of your iPhone and select Restore from Backup. But for this to work the last backup must have been when the collection was still not filtered. Otherwise, you will have to rely on your friendly neighborhood Mac user to get that file out from the iPhone and emailed to us.
