Would you mind sending me the user name you use in the doghouse so I can check up on things. I just want to make sure I have it right because I'm not seeing the library bit set for the user yet I can't reproduce the bug. You can send it to me via email if you don't want to post it here.

Thanks.

I have logged out and cleared all Bruji and Doghouse cookies in Firefox, Quit and restarted Firefox, then logged back in. Also I am having no luck with this in Safari.
I've made some changes to the code. Could you try it again and let me know what happens please?

Also, you don't need to quit the Pedias, just checking the Sync with Doghouse box and clicking Login should do the trick. Same with the browser, there should be no need to quit it, logging out and logging back in should clean up all session variables.

In your case I'm still not seeing the Online Library bit set properly in the database. You said you tried this with DVDpedia Beta 55 correct?

Another thing you can do in the browser is to view another user's library (just as a test because that way all the variables are recreated), try this one:

http://doghouse.bruji.com/dvds/library/alex

But definitely logging out and back in will reset them.

Let me do some more testing to see what I can find. There might be an elusive bug somewhere

Finewine, please try it again and let me know how you fare. I've rewritten some code to make things better.

New: Ordering by Title now ignores articles in English

@Waldbaer pointed out that the title ordering of the Online Library was incorrectly taking into account articles. I've modified it so that articles are now ignored in English.

We have a problem Huston. I am finally able to examine the new On Line Library website a bit better than my first perusal.

There are major discrepancies between my DVDpedia & Bookpedia libraries and my On Line libraries.

DVDpedia Library = 378 | On Line Library = 319
Bookpedia Library = 884 | On Line Library = 875

I have logged out of my pedia libraries and my On Line Libraries and then logged back in and the discrepancies still persist.

Examples:

DVD's missing from On Line Libraries
Alfresco-The complete series - doghouse 6775
Apollo 13-special edition - doghouse 6803
The Breakfast Club - doghouse 2222
Cartoon Classics Vol 1 - doghouse 6751

DVD's missing from On Line Library and have same doghouse number
Black Adder Series 1 - doghouse 6687 (present in on line library)
Black Adder Series 2, 3 & 4 - same doghouse number as series 1 but missing in On Line Library

DVD's I do not own but present in On Line Library
28 Days Later... - do not know doghouse number

Incorrect listing
Doghouse listing = Bond:Quantum of Solace - doghouse 58
My listing = Quantum of Solace - doghouse 58

This is just a sample as I only check upto the first of the 'C's. I have not even attempted my Book library.

Suggestion: can you place the Doghouse Number against each On Line Library Listings and make it sortable numerically so we can easily check the accuracy of our entries against our pedia libraries?

Cheers

Sorry just realised I should have posted here http://www.bruji.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=6447

These discrepancies could be due to stale dog tags, that is old dog tags that were matched to your entries but no longer exist. The only way to clean these up is to remove their dog tags in the pedia and contribute the entry again to get a fresh match.

There are 41 such entries in your Online Library, that is dog tags that no longer exist. I will send you a file with their dog tags in case you want to update them.

These cases will unfortunately show up for some of our veteran users who were there from the beginning of the Doghouse. As the Doghouse grows and evolves, some duplicate entries are merged or deleted so you might end up with a non-existing dog tag. This has never been a problem before because your personal library is independent of the Doghouse, the Doghouse is first and foremost a backend for the pedias, with this new Online Library feature these types of issues crop up.
DVD's missing from On Line Libraries
Alfresco-The complete series - doghouse 6775
Apollo 13-special edition - doghouse 6803
The Breakfast Club - doghouse 2222
Cartoon Classics Vol 1 - doghouse 6751
I do see Alfresco in your Library.
For the others:

6803, 2222, 6751 they do not exist. These are examples of the stale dog tags I was talking about.

Try removing their dog tags and submitting them again to see what happens.
DVD's missing from On Line Library and have same doghouse number
Black Adder Series 1 - doghouse 6687 (present in on line library)
Black Adder Series 2, 3 & 4 - same doghouse number as series 1 but missing in On Line Library
Black Adder Series 2 is a different dog tag:
https://doghouse.bruji.com/movie/6699

Again, try removing the dog tag and contributing this entry again. Unless you have the same imdb or ASIN or UPC as the first series, it should give you the correct match.

DVD's I do not own but present in On Line Library
28 Days Later... - do not know doghouse number
You can always see the dog tag in the page address in Doghouse, for example, when viewing Quatmtum of Solace below, the page address is http://doghouse.bruji.com/movie/58. The last number is the dog tag. At one point, this DVD's dog tag must have matched one of your entries and the app is sending it.

Could you do me a favour and check that the dog tag for this DVD is not present in your collection, even with anothe title?
Incorrect listing
Doghouse listing = Bond:Quantum of Solace - doghouse 58
My listing = Quantum of Solace - doghouse 58
This was surely a match based on the imdb or ASIN numbers but the title was incorrect, no doubt due to a bad mirroring since the entry had a correct title originaly. We do match title also when matching imdb or ASIN so the title change must have happened after you got the dogtag. I've fixed the title.
Suggestion: can you place the Doghouse Number against each On Line Library Listings and make it sortable numerically so we can easily check the accuracy of our entries against our pedia libraries?
I will see about doing this.

As I said above, the stale dog tag issue might crop up for some of our users. I'm sorry it's a bit of a pain to clear up since you have to do some sleuthing to track down old entries that might no longer exist but you can let me know, preferably via email, and I'll send you a file with the dog tags that are in your collection but no longer exist in the pedia.

Thanks for all your help as we smooth out this new feature.

Alex wrote:I do see Alfresco in your Library.
There should be two separate and different entries; one is a gay themed movie (DogTag 6775) and the other a British Comedy TV series but checking with Doghouse movies I can only find one:

Alfresco
DogTag: 6775
UPC: 5027182710140
IMDb: 0131158
ASIN: B000065C1T

There should also be:
Alfresco: The Complete Series
UPC: 5027626298142
IMDb: 0131158
ASIN: B001ADXWY2

EDIT: OK I know why there is a problem here and that is the same IMDb number. BUT  this movie should not have even been in my collection let alone contributed to Doghouse as it is soft porn border line hard porn according to Amazon  I have deleted it from my DVD collection and Doghouse. There was two entries in my collection which I thought was different versions of the British Comedy TV series which I think was picked up and included by Amazon search. Oh dear so

Yes it is as:
Latter Days
DogTag: 188
UPC: 0807839000948
IMDb: 0289043
ASIN: B0002I84JO

But they should be;
Latter Days = DogTag 6842
28 Days Later... = DogTag 188

Ok I thought to save yours and my time I would remove all my DogTags from my DVDpedia & Bookpedia and to refresh them.

I will let you know in 8 to 10 hrs how it all went as it is bed time here and my internet is only ADSL :( at the moment so uploading is taking a while.

Cheers

PS:Both Bookpedia & DVDpedia crashed during contribution and I have sent the crash logs through via email.

EDIT: OK DVDpedia has crashed a second time. I have not sent the crash log this time. Will wait for a report back before attempting to contribute again. Cheers

Thank you for all the debugging and the details with the new feature. We will try to incorporate an automatic fix for any missing dog tags, but have not done as it was technical complicated at the time and hopefully affects a handful of users, but will find out with the bug reports if it's a feature that needs to be moved up on the timeline.

Thank you for the crash logs. The memory management is very aggressive in this new version to keep the Pedias lean and I think that was an issue for the background thread that was doing the contributions. I have updated the beta versions (Bookpedia, DVDpedia), please give them try with your extensive libraries.

Is there some easy way to tell which titles in my library have not been synched to the online library? I updated my entire DVDPedia from Doghhouse prior to synching and then contributed the 50 or so title's that didn't get a dog tag. A number of those I then ended up fixing (bad titles), deleting my bad contribution from Doghouse, and resynching to get an updated Dogtag (after removing the DogTag using the menu command). All title's currently have a positive DogTag number, but I have 731 in my library and only 717 show up online. I'd like to find out the issue with the remaining 14, but I don't particularly feel like going through all 700+ one at a time to figure how which are not online.

Thanks!
