DVDpedia barcodes scanning Region 2 not working ??

Hi,

i have multiple dutch dvd's, and they cant be scanned by my barcode scanner. Well, it gets scanned, but none of the cascading sites finds it. But there is a Bol.nl search option.

Any ideas ?

Could you please send me some examples of the EAN codes you are unable to find? I tried it out with (Sleepless in Seattle) [url=dvdpedia://bruji.com/asin=8712609592009]8712609592009[/url] and (Gladiator) [url=dvdpedia://bruji.com/asin=5050582302066]5050582302066[/url] on Bol.nl and had successful results.

Thanks for the quick reply ! I tried two. One of the EAN codes is 8714865558683 (Saving Private Ryan) and the other is 28 weeks later (blu-ray) -dont know the ean of that. The blu-ray gave me a french blu-ray in Delicous Library, but not in DVDPedia

The strange thing is that i found this link via google :

http://www.nl.bol.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP. ... tion=VIDEO

and this show the right dvd (with EAN code) on the dutch bol.com site.
Now i saw that i can find it on the bol.com site if I search specifically for EAN code (instead of just searching for it as a word). The Sleapless in seattle is searchable by just searching as a word. Maybe DVDPedia is not search specifically on bol.com for a ean code ?

Im just trying to get DVDpedia working correctly before I scan all my dvd's

edit : aaah.. found it. saving private ryan is not available because its not deliverable. Maybe thats the problem ?? I now also see the 28 weeks later works now in dvdpedia...strange.

The delivery does seem to be the case, they have a slightly different version of Saving Private Ryan with a different EAN. Even a search directly on their site with the EAN that you linked to shows no results. Although I think you found the issue, be sure to try the beta of DVDpedia as I did update the bol plug-in recently, but I am pretty sure it's the same as the shipping version. The second database we can't search as although it's user created it belongs to one of our competitors.

Just tried the beta and still not working with the 8714865558683 EAN.
I dont know how the current search is working, but it shouldnt be quite different then the advanced search right ?

If you go here : http://www.nl.bol.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP. ... Name=VIDEO
and then fill in the field called "Je kunt ook op EAN zoeken:" with the EAN code, will show you the right one.
It looks if you search on EAN directly via advanced search that it will show you the dvd directly (well almost, it will show it atleast in a search result)

I hope you can change it easily, and then I will start the barcode-scanning soon Thanks for your help allready !

Thank you for the information. We were using the top search and changing the pop up to EAN, that was resulting in no results. I have made some changes please try out the beta.
