Handling external Links

Hi,

i just bought your perfect piece of software and wanted to ask,
how i can assign external software to a linked file...i have for example linked a pdf to a bookdescription and want them to be opened in my acrobat professional...but once i click it..i just see the symbol of acrobat professional in the built in viewer.

other than that, i am really glad with your software..of course its no necessity...but a good tool to keep your stuff at hand.

i guess the feature is already implemented and has to be something like this:
defaults write com.bruji.bookpedia "Adobe Acrobat Professional for PDF" -bool YES
or something similar =)

i was faster with writing than searching =(
here is the answer i found from connor in an other thread:

Any PDF that Safari can open Bookpedia should be able to open.
You can try changing the preference under the style tab to open links in an external browser; this will open Preview or the default PDF viewer for the document when you click on the link. Otherwise email us the PDF in question as well as a screenshot of the the PDF icon you get, so that we can try to replicate it here and try to find out why your not getting the document.

Turn on the "open links in external browser" option in the preferences. Another option is to remove the Acrobat internet plug-in from ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ and /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ that is trying to load the PDF inline. If you get the icon only it sounds like it's not working properly to begin with. Removing it would affect not only Bookpedia but all programs that use a web view, including Safari. But it might be worth a try as the default Preview plug-in is quite nice.

you were right,
the acrobat viewer plugin seems to have problems working inside the pedias.(was working fine inside safari though)
removed it and the standard plugin was working.
i guess ill stick to the open in external browser option, since the internal viewer doesn't support fullscreen and the viewing options i prefer.

no problem at all. i don't think it's much of a problem anyways. but i for one didn't know that safari is embedded into the pedias.
let me know if you need logs or version numbers of the plugin.
