Barcode Scans beginn with "+E0"

Hi there,

I recently got a used barcode scanner which I'd like to use with DVDPedia. The sanner works, but with some problems:

The Problem I have is the following: Whenever I scan a barcode the sanner indeed recognized the code, BUT each scan starts with the characters "+E0" followed by the correct barcode and a (Return) afterwards. Hence I get a "+E04006680035239" for the DVD "Der dritte Mann" (EAN: 4006680035239).

I get this result with every Progamm I use with the scanner (DVDPedia, Pages etc.). I even tried Windows with the same result. Having to delete the "+E0" for every entry does not really speed things up. So, my question:

Does anybody know a way to get rid of the leading "+e0" characters?

Your barcode scanner should have a manual book, filled with barcodes, that allows you to configure the scanner. By scanning a sequence of barcodes out of this books you should be able to omit the prefix.
