Problems with Dvdpedia and Summary cut short in full screen?

Post by cableguy »

Not all my movies are this way (American Pie and American Pie 2 have much longer summarys and they show completely in full screen mode)

2 examples that i can provide are "after the sunset, and american wedding"
After the Sunset - summary is ..... After a successful last score, a master thief retires to an island paradise. His lifelong nemesis, a crafty FBI agent, washes ashore to ensure he's making good on his promise. The pair soon enters into a new game of cat-and-mouse.

But in full screen mode it is..After a successful last score, a master thief retires to an island paradise. His lifelong nemesis, a crafty FBI agent, washes...

the summary for american wedding is...The group of best friends from their days back at East Great Falls High reunite for the next great sexual adventure in their lives... a wedding with Stifler orchestrating the correlating social event... the bachelor party.

but in full screen mode its cut short "The group of best friends from their days back at East Great Falls High reunite for the next great sexual adventure in the..."

any ideas? Im sure I have others but I havent gone thru the other 200 movies in my collection...

If you have a lot of fields shown and the summary is long, it can only fit so much and still keep it readable from a distance. We have on the to do list scrolling for fullscreen. Could you please email us a screenshot (command-shift-3) of "American Wedding" and "After the Sunset".

I'm also having this issue, as nearly all of the summaries in my collection get cut off at some point—some after just one or two lines, leaving half the screen below completely blank. I thought it was just a preference setting I was missing. Any help or info would be appreciated.

Frostillicus - could you send us your Database.pediadata file as well as your DVDpedia preferences so we can try to mimic your setup here and hopefully figure out a solution? (So far we haven't been able to reproduce the problem.)
You'll find the database file in your Home folder under ~/Library/Application Support/DVDpedia/Database.pediadata. Please archive the file before sending it to ensure that it doesn't get corrupted by the mail process. (Ctrl-click it and choose 'Archive' or 'Compress' from the contextual menu. That'll create a new file called 'Database.pediadata.zip' which you can then attach to the email.) The preference file is located in your Home folder under ~/Library/Preferences/com.bruji.dvdpedia.plist

Thanks!
