I just started using CDpedia now that I've ripped all my cd's into iTunes. In iTunes I have put the cover art in only the first track of an album. When I imported from iTunes no album art imported. Is this due to how I include the album art or does the iTunes import skip the cover art as the usual mode?
The web search feature is neat, but it picks up a small fraction of album covers. It took me a long time (still not completed) to collect all the covers.
Or am I just missing something simple?
Thanks.

CDpedia cover art from iTunes
CDpedia looks for the covers during an import from iTunes and should import a cover even if it's present on only one of the tracks. Are your covers in a special format? Email us a sample cover by dragging it out of iTunes, keep it in it's original format; this way we can try reproducing the problem.
When I find the album art I just copy and paste the image into iTunes, from Amazon or other cd vendors and sites like All About Jazz. I can't say that no covers were imported. I started using CDpedia and right off imported the several libraries I have and when the I noticed that the images didn't appear I just selected all the entries and chose the "download art for selection" action.
Oops, I just realized I can't post an image here. It's in an email to support.
Thanks for your program and help.

Re: CDpedia cover art from iTunes
Hello !
I've just bought CDpedia, and I really enjoy this soft. Big thanks !
But, I have definitively a problem with the subject of this thread...
When I import my library from iTunes, there aren't the covers in CDpedia. The only way to reach this objectif is to introduce them manually. A little longer for 2000 albums...
So, here is my situation :
- my music collection is on a partition
- when I import songs in itunes, I don't copy them in iTunes music folder
- ALL of my songs have a cover art, ALL OF THEM
I've already try to copy songs on my system partition before export them to CDpedia. Same results.
So, have I missed something ? oh, one more thing, I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.2 and the latest versions of iTunes and CDpedia.
Thanks for your help and sorry for the mistakes...

Re: CDpedia cover art from iTunes
The problem is tricky to fix for us since we haven't been able to reproduce it here. But download CDpedia once more and try the iTunes import again (it's still version 4.2). We did some updates to the code regarding the cover images in iTunes and hopefully they will come along with the rest of the information for you now.

Re: CDpedia cover art from iTunes
If you don't mind please do email us some of the covers that don't work so we can try it out here. What OS X and iTunes version are you running?
Re: Cover art in all Pedias
Same problem here, which is related to all 4.2 versions of CDpedia, DVDpedia and Bookpedia. None of the applications shows the covers anymore, although they were there before. The function "download cover" is downloading, but afterwards there's still no cover showing up. If you add an item, the cover is shown in the dialog, but doesn't appear later on.
This doesn't have anything to do with the covers itself, because they were showing up in earlier versions of the programs. This bug must affect a lot of people, because this topic was viewed almost 4000 times now.

Re: CDpedia cover art from iTunes
Hi Madnil,
What you are describing is something different. The issue is that certain covers from iTunes are not imported with the import play list command; for some reason iTunes does not send them along. This is an issue that only affects CDpedia.
For your issue make sure that the permissions are correct on your covers folder (~/Library/Application Support/Bookpedia/Covers) as it sounds like the covers are shown in the add panel but are then not saved. Also run the repair permissions command on your hard drive using Disk Utility as this will repair the permissions for your Application Support folder. If you still have problems after that email us some screenshots of the problem and your database file called Database.pediadata in your data folder mentioned above.

Re: CDpedia cover art from iTunes
It's been a while since I last imported albums from iTunes (in fact a while since last using cdpedia, now using the latest release) -- cover art is now transferring.
Thank you very much!
