Option to disable cover reencoding

Post by randian »

When you add or replace a cover image in *Pedia, the image it saves is not a bit-for-bit copy of the input. Instead, the image appears to be reencoded (they have different sizes than the source, PNGs get turned into JPGs, etc) before being saved. It would be nice if there were an option to disable reencoding and simply save an exact copy of the input image.

Thank you for the feedback. We have plans to change the images to the new Apple format container or possible PNG if we have to support older systems than 10.13. As the new version is still targeting 10.12+, but that might change depending on the advantages of some of the new APIs.
