Hi,
since today I cannot open either of the pedias anymore; I get the error "*Pedia is damaged and cannot be opened, load it again from the app store." I've heard about similar things from other apps. Is this a general OS X problem?
What to do about it?

It appears that it is sufficient to log out of the Apple app store and sign in again to fix it.

It was indeed a general App Store problem. Apple let it's certificate expire, so any app that was linked with the App Store could not be verified as valid. Luckily Apple has already updated it certificate, but does require login out or restarting your Mac. This does not affect those who have bought directly from us and use a serial number as the program is not linked to Apple and the App Store.
