I have a complicated problem.
I have an iPod Classic and over 3700 books in Bookpedia. I have tried all the various solutions I could find here [and understand] to get around the 1000 note problem on the iPod, nothing seems to work. I tried making smart collections sorted by author's name, but the lists for the last part of the alphabet were always empty. The help refers to 3rd party software to split the file, but I don't know what kind of software that would be and how it would get around the 1000 note problem.
As if this were not complicated enough, I have a new problem. While still experimenting with the various templates, something seems to have gone wrong. When I click on the button to export to the iPod, the Mac makes this sound like morse code or an alarm bell. Bookpedia tells me that the file is finished exporting but when I look in the iPod, there is nothing there in Notes.
I even tried to export in txt form, but there is a lot of extra information around the name and author of each book, and I can't tell if all the books got there or not.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Bookpedia and iPod classic
The easiest way to verify that the issue is not with Bookpedia is to look a the files directly exported by Bookpedia inside the iPod. They are in the "Notes" folder, inside another folder named after the collection. They are regular XML files that you can open with a text editor to make sure the information is there.
Do clean out the notes folder if you have several notes so as to start anew and hence free up the limit on number of notes that the iPod will load. With that many books no matter what technique you use it's going to be hard to get all that data onto the iPod as it was never designed for handle more than a few personal notes.
If Bookpedia is encountering an error during export then it would report it into the console log. Could you have a look at your console log, see if there are any messages from Bookpedia? You can access the console log via the application 'Console', located inside your Applications/Utilities. The newer messages are towards the end of the log.
