Problem when updating from Bookpedia version 4 to 5

Hi,

I am trying to update my two pedia applications (Bookpedia and CDpedia) from version 4 to version 5. With CDPedia no problems, all occurred normally.

But with Bookpedia there is a problem. When I launch the version 5, Bookpedia asks me if my authors are listed Lastname, Firstname. I answer No (or Yes, the problem occurs anyway). Then, the database update starts, and a few seconds later the process is stopped with the following error message: "Multiple validation error occurred".

Is it a bug? Or am I doing something wrong?

This means there is something wrong with the data file which CoreData can't deal with during the update, most likely an orphaned entry or something along those lines. Please send us your Database.pediadata file so we can try and do the update for you here. You'll find the file in your Home folder under ~/Library/Application Support/Bookpedia/Database.pediadata. Please archive the file before sending it to save space. (Select it and choose 'Archive' or 'Compress' from the File menu. That'll create a new file called 'Database.pediadata.zip' which you can then attach to the email.)

If you're on Lion, it hides the Library folder by default so to go to your Bookpedia data folder you have to use the Finder's 'Go' menu, hold down the Option key and the Library folder will appear.
