Notes field

Post by Rui Guerreiro »

Here's another one: would it be possible to pre-fill the Notes field with some text? This would be useful, at least in my case, because I have a list of things that I sometimes type in that field, according to each book, and sometimes I forget to do it. If I could pre type in this list of thing in there, I could just delete the ones I wouldn't need for each book, and fill the ones needed.

Hope you understand what I mean, and thank you for considering it ;)

Best,
Rui

Hi Rui,

Thank you for the feedback about a default value that would appear for an entry on addition, not possible at the moment.

You can use the multiple edit feature to pre fill the field for all the note entries that are currently blank. Create a smart collection with "notes is [leave blank]". Then select all the entries in that smart collection and select edit and type your text into the notes field. This way you could process the notes after adding books instead of right away. You would have to do this periodically when you enter a number of books.

That looks like a workaround that might work. I will check it later ;)

Thanks a lot Conor!
