CDpedia, How to input 2CD info?

I'm having difficulties trying to figure out how to get a 2CD or 2LP entry. It keeps listing as 2 albums with 4 discs instead of 1 album with 2 discs. Also is there a way to delete or remove links as an entry to details?

You can ctrl-click on the tracks tab to merge or separate discs (select those tracks you want to separate or merge and then ctrl-click). If this is not what you're talking about, please give me some more information about the problem such as specific titles or screenshots so I can try to repeat the problem here.

Hi Conor. The ctrl-click isn't working for me. Fields are gray even after selecting songs to merge which really isn't what I need done here. There are many different types of Formats with CDs and LPs. Some are multiples like a 4CD boxed set or 2CD which is 1 album or 1 set with multiple discs. Some of these albums have continuous tracks and some don't. I have to manually input this 2CD De La Soul "3 Feet High And Rising" Remastered, Reissued, German Import with a bonus disc. The bonus disc has songs on it from the first disc that wasn't part of the original. This album doesn't show up on the scans. I got partial info from the "original" release and had to fix some of the song tracks and credits (which I don't mind doing). How do I manually input a 2CD format and have CDpedia recognize 1 album with 2 discs and the proper count on the bottom or in Library? ( I'm OCD about stats & correct labeling & new to CDpedia) I have a lot of music in boxed sets, 2CD and other formats of discs.

Thank you for all the information I have been unable to repeat the issue. If I select any number of tracks and then control-click any part of the selection I get the option to "split selection to new disc" always available. In fact clicking a single track should still let you split that one track out. Here are some screenshots of the process.





Do let me know if your not able to get it to work and I'll try to think of something, not sure how to go about debugging this one.

I fixed the capitalization in the track list and added the duration from Wikipedia and some extra info and contributed [url=cdpedia://bruji.com/dogTag=36452]the album into the Doghouse[/url]. So now you will be able to search for it online. There was a last track in the bonus disc that I got conflicting information on different sites, not sure if it's part of the bonus disc "The Magic Number (Chad Jackson Hip Hop Version)". I left it in without a duration, but if that not the case you can "mirror" the entry if your are signed up as a moderator to update it on the Doghouse, otherwise let me know and I can update it. If you're not yet signup for the Doghouse consider signing up as contributing albums that have been meticulously entered in an OCD fashion is the kind of contributions we are most looking for.

Hi Conor. On Sunday I was able to highlight the area I wanted to move and couldn't move or copy anything selected. The options of Spilt Selection to New Disc or Join Selection To Previous Disc were both gray.

Today I try to do what you suggested and was able to move the bonus disc tracks to the album. After I get it moved I can't get more than one track to select for the split. I have a late 2011 15" Macbook Pro 10.7.3 with magic mouse if this will help. New camera and other stuff works with this pedia. I'm stumped.

I will sign up for the doghouse. This bonus disc version has only 14 songs, no "The Magic Number (Chad Jackson Hip Hop Version)." Thanks for all the help.

I just wanted to let you know that I am also stumped and am not sure what might be happening on your computer that stops you from selecting more than one track. If you do keep running into the problem do take a look at your console log for any messages from CDpedia as it would report errors into the log. You can view the log with the program of the same name in your Applications/Utilities folder, new messages are at the bottom of the log.

Sorry so late in my reply. I completely uninstalled CDpedia. Then reinstalled and it works wonderfully now. Thanks for all the help and speedy responses.
