multiple libraries

Somehow I have two libraries. One is the proper one with all my data entered. The other is empty. The empty one is the default one. It's at the top of the list and opens on starting the program. Can I delete the empty one?

Your main library is the one with the colorful icon at the very top of the source column list. That's the default collection where all your entries should be entered. If you have another collection where your entries are and these are NOT in the Library collection, select the collection and choose 'Include collection in Library' from the File menu.
After that you can delete the other collection if you like since all entries will now be in the main Library collection.
