S. collections: filter certain conditions

Can smart collections filter for certain values, i.e.
1. Can you filter: IF 1 OR 2 for Custom field?
2. Can you filter for BLANK (Dates for instance): IF NOT ANYTHING.
Like "Films where LastSeen is BLANK"

The smart collections cannot handle mixed and/or cases but they can do all "or" (any) or "and" (all) cases. That is one tricky sentence, but an example will help:
"Custom1 is 1" smart collection rule 1
"Custom1 is 2" smart collection rule 2
"Any" this is a pop up button option.

It can handle empty date field by leaving them blank; i.e. "Last Seen is [blank]".
