I need to restore my game and dvd pedia files
what is the easiest way to do this ?
and where are the actual data files located - in what directory?

The data files are by default located in your Home folder under ~/Library/Application Support/DVDpedia [or Gamepedia]. In those folders you'll see a file called 'Database.pediadata' which is the data file and a folder called 'Covers' which holds the cover images.
If you're restoring the data from a backup file, first make sure that DVDpedia or Gamepedia are NOT running. Then you can drag the DVDpedia and/or Gamepedia folder(s) into the Application Support folder mentioned above and restart the programs to see your library as before.
