Some major IMDB info missing (director etc.) when adding

Oh my, this is not going well... I'm so sorry for all the confusion. But this should really be the definite version now: beta.

Definitely improved but I am still only getting partial writers (2/3 for CR) and no producer.

I cannot believe this is happening...

I have come to use DVDPedia again this morning using the Beta which worked, and now it is not getting the info from IMDB again.

Any suggestions please as this is having an effect on the usability of the program for me at the moment.

If it helps, it is dragging the roles from IMDB and placing them in the Name column but there is nothing appearing in the right hand column.

@Dynamic - To get the Producer information make sure you check the 'Produced by' box in the IMDb Options. (Found in the plug-ins menu, the little white cube next to the Help menu.) But there seems to be a correlation between the producer information and the full writer information being downloaded so we'll have to take a look at that again.

@adrianwright - Could you give us a few examples of movies where the info from IMDb doesn't come along? Every search I try here seems to work fine for the credits and other fields.

I do not know what this causing this, but it is rather annoying.

My two cents: it all suddenly stopped working properly as the other guys describe. This latest beta has brought it all back to as it weas before.

What happened? Did iMDB change something?

Yes, IMDb changed a number of things on their site so we had to update the plugin a couple of times.

I just tried with Kill Bill Vol1 and got the roles properly (see attached screenshot). Before Advanced-> Get Advanced Info for Selection-> IMDb, I had nothing on the right-hand side role column and just 4 names on the left column.

I am using the latest beta of DVDpedia

The only option I seem to have is to remove DVDPedia and try again. How do I do this without losing my collection data?

It seems that installing these beta versions has done something bizarre because my screen does not look like the above.

Hi Adrian,

what I suggest is the following:

1. Make sure DVDpedia is not running. Remove the DVDpedia app completely. This will not remove your data because by default the database is stored in your home folder under ~/Library/Application Support/DVDpedia

2. Download the latest beta from the same place as before.

3. Go to the plugins menu and choose the options you want for IMDb (complete actors, etc)

4. Go to Advanced-> Get Advanced info... -> IMDb.

5. What happens now?

If this still fails, you can try removing also your preferences file, inside your home folder under ~/LibraryPreferences/com.bruji.dvdpedia.plist (while DVDpedia is not runing, and the "tilde" ~ just represents your home folder, it's not actually a path you will see there.)

Make sure you have your serial number handy before removing files since it might ask you to register again.

Well, Pocketpedia release is anyone's guess since we have no control of when Apple approves submissions to the App store. They seem to have a "when we get to it" policy.

We haven't submitted the new version yet but getting ready for it. The main new feature will be two-way sync with the Desktop Pedias. (Which is also the trickiest feature to get right so we want to make sure that really all is running smooth in beta testing before we submit the new version.)
