Pocketpedia Times out?
I am trying to sync my Pocketpedia with DVDpedia. The first time it took a few tries to get it synced, as it kept timing out after 2 minutes. Now it continues to give me that error, even after restart of both computer and iphone. Any ideas?
Re: Pocketpedia Times out?
Sounds like a firewall in the router or Mac. If your firewall is enabled in System Preferences --> Security disable it for testing, also check the advance settings button of the firewall and make sure stealth mode is not checked.

Unfortunately, it wasn't the problem. As I have checked that and the firewall on the router. Any other ideas?
Re: Pocketpedia Times out?
Are there any errors from DVDpedia in the console log or from Pocketpedia. To check the console log for the iPhone you need a special program from apple, read this post for information. Also please email us your database file and we can try the sync out here to verify.

Re: Pocketpedia Times out?
No console messages for DVDpedia. I will check Pocketpedia and upload my database file to my webserver so you can download it as it is 41 mb, little large to email.
Re: Pocketpedia Times out?
Thank you. You can also FTP it to us, if you would like to do so let me know and I will send you the FTP details.

Re: Pocketpedia Times out?
The only console messages I get is when I have to force quit DVDpedia because it freezes when trying to sync with Pocketpedia.
Here is what the iPhone console shows when trying to sync:
Guess I will have to get the FTP details after all. You can email me or PM them to me. Thanks Conor. This has really thrown me for a loop.

Re: Pocketpedia Times out?
I have PMed the FTP details. If DVDpedia freezes please use the "sample" button in Activity Monitor to sample DVDpedia while frozen and save the file in XML for sending. It will give us more information if we are unable to duplicate the freeze on our system even with your data.

Re: Pocketpedia Times out?
For any onlookers, Conor knocked this problem out of the park almost instantly. Once I gave him all the info he needed, he had no problem correcting the issue (which was me having a billion smart collections. ) and had Pocketpedia up and syncing on first try. Thank you Conor. And as I always say, please support Bruji. This kind of service is not the norm for all software companies!
Re: Pocketpedia Times out?
Thank you for the kind words. The fix is also included for the next version of Pocketpedia so that other users will not run into any problem even with syncing a billion smart collection.
