Export Delicious > DVDPedia

Post by TheHamburger »

Hi ,

Can any body help me out , I'm trying to export my library from Delicious to DVDPedia , I like Delicios but its not linking to IMDB is a bit of a deal breaker.

So far I have exported from DL (2.0) as an XLM though I didn't apply a XSLT as I wasn't sure what one was.

I then get this file "Library Export 2008-11-17.xml"

When I try to import into DVDPedia(4.3.2) I get a message "File format nor recognized"

Could somebody point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

Use the export to Delicious 1.5 function under the file menu instead of the regular XML export this will also include a folder with the covers images as well. Import the XML file inside the exported folder.

That worked perfectly.

Thank you.

Next I'm trying to upload to a free hosting site http://thehamburger.hostrator.com

I've tried entering the details in export

And the preview comes out perfectly

But then when its supposed to transfer the files its seems to get stuck.

Am I just being impatient , I left it about 10 minutes but there was no advance in the status bar.

Or I made a mistake.

Alternately could it be this host and do you have any recommendations for a free site?

Cheers and thanks again for the initial import / export advice.

Do take a look at your console log for any errors from DVDpedia that might have happened during the upload. You can view the log with the program of the same name in your utilities folder. Another way to get the export uploaded to your free hosting account is to use an FTP program such as Transmit and upload an HTML export that was exported to your desktop, instead of using the built in FTP option. It could be that the "htdocs" part of the path needs to be specified for hostrator.com; e.i. the "DVDs" site name might have to read "/htdocs/DVDs". A program like Transmit will have much more details if an error occurs during the FTP upload and will also let you navigate your online FTP site like the finder so any special settings will be more obvious.
