Well all, throw my hat into the ring as well... I have an original 8GB iPhone with version 2.1 installed. the phone works great except when it comes to installing upgraded Applications. It just will NOT install the Application upgrades and I am not about to throw days worth of data that has been applied to certain Apps. So until a fix comes along I guess I will use the version I have installed. Here is the error message I am receiving:
"Some of the applications in your iTunes library were NOT installed on the iPhone "******" because one or more errors occurred. (See below):"
The application "*********" was NOT installed on the phone "******" because an unknown error occurred (0xE800002E)
In my case I had 6 updates that did NOT upgrade because of the above error. The above error code was the same for ALL of them...
Like all have said in this thread, hoping a fix comes soon and only Apple can do it, which they no doubt will, hopefully the next update they do.......................................

Re: Updated Application NOT Syncing - Help....
Some users are experiencing this issue with updates. The error message is the generic error that the iPhone can't verify the application and refuses to install it. It's not a problem with the application certification or signature but with the verification process. Try rebooting your iPhone, or installing the application directly from the App Store on the iPhone. A more drastic move of restore of the latest 2.1 iPhone OS software might help. If you do try any of the above solutions do be sure to do a backup of your iPhone so that you can restore all your data if something goes wrong. Also important to follow this steps to protect against any data loss.
