sychronizing: no data received ..... what is wrong???

My set-up:

Powerbook G4
Iphone 2.1
Adhoc connection between powerbook and i-phone (since i thought maybe the issue was the firewall)
CDPedia 4.3.1
Itunes 8
Pocketpedia 1.1


My issue:

When I try to sync i get the following error message: no data received in two minutes.....try restarting both pocketpedia and cdpedia......which i did....but same error......

My library and collections show up (with the number of entries in each) but the individual entries just show the dog and say not synced. So apparently the details are not being synced for the entries.

I have uninstalled pocketpedia and reinstalled but got the same error.

Any ideas???/

try the beta of CDpedia, there was a bug that if one of your collections was sorted by status then it would not sync; Although, in these cases you shouldn't even get the collection on Pocketpedia. If it still fails with the beta, take a look at your console log with the program of the same name in your utilities folder and search for "CDpedia" to find out if any errors are reported.

btw: my collections had synced fine a few weeks ago using the beta. the only difference today was that i updated to 4.3.1 and also imported my itunes library for the first time (had been using it just to keep track of my vinyl records previously)....not sure if that is affecting what is going on....but i deleted my itunes library from cdpedia just in case... and tried to sync again and got the same error......

Does look like the exception is the reason why it's not importing. Please send me your data file for CDpedia this way I can try to sync your data here. If I can duplicate the exception on the test computer it's 90% of the work of fixing the bug. The file is located in your home folder under ~/Library/Application Support/CDpedia/Database.pediadata (zip it up with ctrl-click) email the compressed version to our support email, found on our support web page. I was able to repeat the exception, so the other 10% of the work did not take long. The new CDpedia beta is up. Thank you for the help and the file.
