Re: Multiple Field Sorting

Hi Connor, It would seem that Apple wants us to believe that everything is easy but the more we talk the more I'm finding that it ain't so. Excel has the nicest column sorting (under the Data Ribbon tab) which got me thinking about how to implement a multi-field sort that can be saved. That's when I...

Re: Multiple Field Sorting

Thanks Connor for taking this into the feature enhancement list. Maybe as a source for ideas about sorting columns, look at spreadsheet apps such as Numbers or Excel which have had this feature for a long time now.. Even though the OS X GUI has change what brought me to Apple was the everything out ...

Re: Multiple Field Sorting

OK. I have to retract the word easy from my previous post. It's not. It's a great concept but requires too much trial and error to get it right. The reasons... 1. If you accidentally click on a column you lose your setting. 2. Now that the setting is lost you have to remember how you did it i...

Smart Collections - Character Count

A smart collection can be setup to search for blank fields which automatically enters custom8 == nil as the search value. Is there a way to setup a smart collection to search a field containing a character count greater than a target number? The reason I ask is that when I transferred the my old DB ...

Re: CDpedia - Linked Tracks With Accents Won't Play

UPDATE Looking back at my steps to reproduce this issue, I realize now that I made the explanation more complicated than it needed to be. I recently found out that I can right click on a linked track and copy the link used by CDpedia. Here is a track with no accents and the CDpedia link. Track Name:...

CDpedia - Linked Tracks With Accents Won't Play

CDpedia 5.4.2 I have look in this forum but did not find any reports on this issue. I have a lot of album from French artists and I have noticed that when I click on a linked track that has a title with an accent in the Details view, it will not play in iTunes. Since you might not own french albums...

Re: All Apps - Link Name Match Web Page Name

Wow! Another leap. :D Re-entered the links from my last post and all is good. Just finished my artist URLs. I only encounter one other link that worked on the desktop but not in CDpedia. Funny how finicky some of these sites can be. Here is the URL for your review. http://www.thewaroftheworlds.com/

Re: All Apps - Link Name Match Web Page Name

Thanks Connor! This is such a time saver. I'm almost done all my artist URLs. I have noticed a few site with odd behaviours as you had mentioned. It would seem to be with dashes, apostrophes, ampersands and characters with accent but the majority of sites were OK with these. Here some URLs that were...

All Apps - Link Name Match Web Page Name

I am updating Links in CDpedia that that did not transfer from my previous DB app's XML export. I love the ability to be able to drag a URL from Safari and then drop it on the Details view to automatically create a hyperlink in the current album. However, it would be nice to have the web page's titl...

Re: CDpedia - Blank Type With HTTPS Web Pages

No problems. I should of put more emphasis on the fact that the links worked in the first place. :(

I'm just amazed at how fast the turnaround was for this issue. :D

Glad to help out anyway I can.

Re: CDpedia - Blank Type With HTTPS Web Pages

No this is not a custom template but the default one that come with the installation. I have done the same test on DVDpedia and Bookpedia and I get the same issue as I get with CDpedia. The links will works but in the edit Links it is not being recognized as a Web Page in the Type field. I have take...

CDpedia - Blank Type With HTTPS Web Pages

CDpedia 5.4.2 and CDpedia 5.4.2 Beta 70 When dragging and dropping a URL that starts with https: on to an album, the resulting link type is blank instead of showing "Web Page". Steps to Reproduce 1. Launch Safari and CDpedia. 2. In Safari, go to wikipedia.org and search for any artists (i...

Re: Single Album with Multiple CDs

Hi Connor, I'm more than happy to help out with the testing. I've imported my current DB from another so I'm testing and learning at the same time. I was reading about why the multi-value for the Artitst field was removed. Incredible how a comma can become an issue. Let me know when you have the nex...

Re: Single Album with Multiple CDs

Thanks Connor. Here is the testing that I have done with the beta version. CDs Used: Phil Collins new 2016 double CD releases of the albums Face Value and Both Sides. Face Value 1. Loaded CD 1, highlighted the tracks of the first disc then pressed Cmd+T. The durations and the disc ID were picked up....
