However, I can discern no difference. The 'sort title' area is blank - I don't know if it should show anything. I shall try to read more about databases and things.

Apologies if I've missed this in the FAQ thing: If I add a book (epub) called, say, 'The Hat', it might get listed by Bookpedia among the Ts. But some books, for example 'The Dog', get listed among the Ds. The metadata for both (set by calibre) is in the same format: 'The Hat', 'The Dog'. What am I ...
