Re: Should the Pedia's move to a Different Financial Model
I would also vastly prefer paying for major new releases. I avoid subscription software like the plague. It makes me feel like my data is being held for ransom, and if I choose not to pay, I can no longer access it. I'm all in favor of supporting Conor's continued work on the Pedias after the hiatus...

Is there still development on the Pedias, or are they dead?
Back in July I expressed concern on the "Keep the Pedias alive" post in the PediaTalk forum about how long it's been since the last update. It's now been 11 months. FineWine, I know you've answered a few posts here and there in the past year but there's been no talk of updates or new featu...

Re: Keep the Pedias Alive
I've been wondering the same thing. The last update was in November 2021, more than 8 months ago. I hope these great programs aren't going to become "orphans". I recently just put my entire 200+ digital audiobook collection in Bookpedia, to go along with over 660 books and almost 800 DVDs ...

Latest on Spotlight search working with DVDpedia again?
I'm running DVDpedia 6.0 and MacOS 10.14.6. I know years ago I used to be able to search in Spotlight for DVDs without even having DVDpedia open, and it was very useful. They would show up as documents in Spotlight results. That no longer works. I've tried turning the Spotlight off and back on in th...

Re: Bookpedia - Default columns in a new collection
Thank you. Sorry I missed that--I did look through the Preferences, but I missed it in the menus.

Re: Bookpedia - Default columns in a new collection
Sorry, I forgot to add that I'm using Bookpedia 5.9.3, the latest Beta, 130. I hadn't tried new collections until now, so I don't know if this used to work before in Bookpedia.

Bookpedia - Default columns in a new collection
I've chosen, ordered, and sized the columns that show in my Library carefully. When I create a new collection or smart collection in Bookpedia, though, it appears with a minimal default set of columns. Then I have to painstakingly duplicate the same view in that collection. I'd like any new collecti...

Re: DVDpedia - IMDB lookup first hit stuck
I think I'm having the same problem. This happens when searching by UPC code, either through iSight or with a CueCat reader (yes, I have one just for DVDpedia). Today's only film of choice is "Up". My problem is, although I'm running DVDpedia 5.6, my Mac is running OS 10.11 and don't have ...

Can I run 2 DVDpedias to manage 2 different types of info?
I'm a longtime DVDpedia user, and have over 1500 video titles in a few different collections. But now I want to maintain and manage a library of video clips (not whole movies). While some fields are similar (title, date, starring, etc.), many are different (resolution, custom tags, etc.) and many ha...

Re: Getting no results in Spotlight for DVDpedia entries
Thanks very much for your reply. I am using El Capitan, 10.11.2. I hope you can find a resolution.

Getting no results in Spotlight for DVDpedia entries
I'm using DVDpedia 5.4.2, bought directly from Bruji. I get no results when I search for a DVD title in Spotlight, or when I search for kind:DVD. I've turned off the "Spotlight" under DVDpedia Help, restarted, turned it back on, and restarted. No changes. I've searched the forums, and base...

Re: DVDpedia 4.6.8, El Capitan, and Spotlight
I apologize for getting your impression of Amazon registering wrong. Why don't I upgrade? Because I assume it's a 1-way street, and I have so many DVDs in my library, and I use DVDpedia regularly. I've paid close attention and I haven't found any features added since 4.6.8 that particularly appeal t...

Re: DVDpedia 4.6.8, El Capitan, and Spotlight
Thanks for the one reply, but it basically said "you shouldn't use 4.6.8, upgrade! Amazon registration is easy!" and "sure, Spotlight works fine, I'm using Yosemite". Which leaves all my original questions unanswered (I asked about 4.6.8, El Capitan, and Spotlight, and also about...

DVDpedia 4.6.8, El Capitan, and Spotlight
I've stuck with DVDpedia 4.6.8 for many years not because I don't want to upgrade, but because I don't want to lose the Amazon lookup. I recently got a new Mac, going from Snow Leopard [10.6.8] to El Capitan (10.11). I used Migration Assistant to move over just my User folder, and then I re-installe...

Thanks! I had no idea that the problems would be so minor.
