Lateste beta tested again and it works.
My only recommendation at this point is I had to move LOC up in the search order before AbeBooks as they keep matching on the weirdest stuff with strings like '55-5634'. That's not a complaint, that's just an observation.
thx

Re: Library of Congress searches
I've tested the beta and it does appear to work as described. Thank you. I admit I have never looked at the various forms of the LOC's catalog numbers, and I can't imagine I'm alone in this. Seeing how LOC is a really good place for pre-(I)SBN books (at least in the US) I'm betting a lot of people a...

Library of Congress searches
Am I doing something wrong when trying to pull data from the Library of Congress? I have LOC catalogue card no. 55-5634. But when I put that, or any similar LOC card number into the search box, I never get any results from the LOC through Bookpedia. I event tried to entry the data as the 8 digit ver...

Re: Autofill rebuild issue
Good news, your Beta functions correctly; your devoted user.... no so much. Turns out I was missing some Genre entries hiding in.... the Wish List. Once I found those and fixed them, the autofill rebuild for Genre worked 100%. I even checked with and with out my Doghouse collections; everything stil...

Re: Autofill rebuild issue
Well, we're on the right track. I just played with the Beta and it mostly works. My genre entries cleaned up when I ran 'rebuild' this time, except for two entries which both lived in one of the various Doghouse collections. ...I don't understand it either. So something is sneaking through the filte...

Re: Autofill rebuild issue
Well, I figured out at least what's going on. (Finally went searching for a SQLite browser and found one; digging through the raw data is really helpful.) I finally found those oddball genre entries, they are coming from my Doghouse collections. So it seems as I get data to review/approve for the Do...

Autofill rebuild issue
I'm going through and cleaning up my data in Bookpedia (5.1.0), specifically the genre data. I've gone into my Library, limited which Genre's are actually in use, then I go to Preferences > Autofill > Genre > Rebuild and find that I've got a ton of genre entries still listed that do not exist in my ...

Re: Possible Spotlight indexing issue
Just wanted to pass on what happened in this case: there was a problem somewhere on my Mac. I think the fsevent data was out of sync or flat out corrupted. Disk Utility didn't find any issues. Ultimately, after exhausting every other option I could think of to try I blew away those CoreData director...

Possible Spotlight indexing issue
I just found I'm having these log entries on my MBP running 10.6.8: May 30 19:20:09 124 mdworker[290]: MySpotlightImporter:persistentStoreCoordinator unable to add persistent store coordinator - Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=513 UserInfo=0x103b2fd40 "The file couldn’t be saved because yo...

Multiple Viewing Windows?
Is it possible to open multiple Bookpedia windows at the same time? I would find it very helpful when doing mass edits of books to have multiple windows open, each displaying a different collection. As a comparison, in iTunes you can open multiple windows each one having a different playlist, which ...

Re: Pocketpedia3 synced the first time, but not anymore
For what it's worth, I wanted to chime in on my issue just to close it out. Long story short: my wireless router was not routing packets for my iPod to my MacBook Pro. I think the ARP cache was corrupted somehow (I've got a weird network setup in my house - that probably aggravated the problem). Of ...

Re: Pocketpedia3 synced the first time, but not anymore
Somehow, my syncing has started working again. I've been arguing with iTunes all weekend over some music stupidity and have been syncing and resyncing my pod. Occationally I would fire up Bookpedia or Pocketpedia and try a wi-fi sync again. Until now it's simply failed. But now, it seems to be worki...

Re: Pocketpedia3 synced the first time, but not anymore
OK, I'm having the same issue. The first sync via wifi went smoothly. Now it doesn't work any more. I've done the recommended solution here using the USB sync to my iTouch and that worked just fine. However when I tried to do a wireless sync immediately after that it still failed. My touch is report...

Thoughts on the Doghouse
I just started trying to do some moderation on the available data and have some initial feedback. For clarity, this is only related to book data. I've got an issue with how the Doghouse moderation is supposed to work; I'm seeing a flaw in the plan. In short: if I edit, I approve. But there are times...

Doghouse Submission via Context Menu
I was expecting to be able to select books from my library (or collection), right click, and then submit those entries to the Doghouse via a context menu item, but there is no such menu option.
I would find this useful.
Thx
Gopher.
