Re: Bookpedia: need a more flexible "Times Read"
I'd posted about this on another thread. The thing that would get me to update without question is more-robust ebook handling.

Re: Searching/tagging books: type vs. format
You can add multiple formats to the format field (separated by a comma or whatever you'd prefer). Although what might be a better solution as far as I can tell from your explanation would be to use just 'eBook' as the format and then build smart collections such as the following "Any Link Type...

Re: Bookpedia: need a more flexible "Times Read"
What if I don't have a date? I'd have to put in some random, bogus entry, and that's tedious to do when the date has no meaning. Being able to simply put a Yes/No, or a number for times read, would be more flexible. I would normally use Last Read for something I'd read very recently, where I have an...

Bookpedia: need a more flexible "Times Read"
I've been slowly going over a BIG collection of books I've added. But I'm a bit confounded by the Mark As... function. There are books I'd read some years ago, but the closest I can Mark them is "Read Last Month." Surely there can be a more flexible implementation than this? Version: 4.6.8...

Re: Q About Bookpedia 5: ebooks
As I work with v. 4, I've come to a conclusion about what would get me to update to a new version. And it breaks down to e-books. They're the New Thing, after all; more robust handling is decidedly needed. Here's what I would like: 1) support for multiple format under a single title. This really oug...

Searching/tagging books: type vs. format
I'm dealing with Bookpedia 4.6.8, so apologies if this is in 5.x Right now, we can still only list ebooks as a single Format--at least, that field can't handle multiple, separate formats. However, if you drop a links to ebook files onto the Links pane, it lists each format separately: lit, pdf, epub...

Q About Bookpedia 5: ebooks
The question about upgrading to 5, for me, breaks down to: what improvements have been made for handling ebooks? Parsing the Read Me's, I'm not sure that I see any big changes there. (Lending isn't an issue for ebooks, of course, so tracking copies that way doesn't matter to me.) Also, the Update wi...

Bookpedia: Q how to batch change format
I have a bunch of books that were accidentally added in the wrong format; is there any way to select the group and change them to the correct one all at once? (that is, all to the same format)

I realize that Bookpedia can import epub format, but what about other formats, such as .lit and .html? Right now, it ignores them. And, as someone posted in a thread, the ability to track multiple formats for the same title would help, too.

Sorting multiple books while adding them
I have a large numbers of bar codes scanned into text files, and I'd like to add them to Bookpedia using the "Add Multiple Books" item. However, I'd also like to modify the "Location" field at the same time. That is, if I add the codes for 20 books from Box #2, I'd like to have t...

translating...
Unfortunately Amazon doesn't keep the UPC for books. It only has the ISBN or the EAN and a 12-digit UPC can't be translated to either one of those. There seems to be a mad complicated work-around so if we ever have some spare time on our hands we might attempt to get that to work for Bookpedia. Are...

1) the option for searches (when adding movies) to be sorted by "closest match." That way, a search for Go would return that exact match first. 2) an option for "media" type to remember the last selection. That way, if you input a long series of DVD-Rs, you don't have to keep swi...
