Z39.50 British Library access

Post by danco »

The details for access to the British Library are

Z39.50 clients such as BookWhere and EndNote can access the full Integrated Catalogue, with records displayed in the SUTRS (Simple Unstructured Text Record Syntax) format. The following configuration details are required to gain access:

Host Name: BLZCAT
Domain Name: z3950cat.bl.uk
Port Number: 9909
Database Names: BLAC or RPS
Record Syntax: SUTRS
Element Set Name: F (Full) or B (Brief)

Unless it is just a matter of a different name, the Record Syntax is not currently available within Bookpedia. Also, I don't know what the significance of the Element Set Name is.

Bookpedia does not support SUTRS format, but it's on our to do list.
