Re: Pedias in the MacApp Store
A huge positive for the Mac app store: buying from it guarantees the software will work on all your Macs. Too many developers (though certainly not the kind folks at Bruji) want to sell you a separate copy for each one of your Macs. I also think the store will be a huge boon for small developers. I ...

Re: search and replace in entire database
I guess this would be the best way to replace a disk name in the Links/URL field as in:
sqlite3 ~/Library/Application\ Support/DVDpedia/Database.dvdpd
update zEntry set zURL = replace(zSummary, 'WD 2TB Internal 4', 'Macintosh HD 4');
Is that correct?

Lion and Front Row
The news is that Mac OS X 10.7 Lion removes Front Row (at least from the current developer preview). This is devastating news to us as heavy Front Row/DVDPedia users. I'm hoping that Conor and the good people at Bruji have some thoughts on how to fill in the gap. Obviously DVDPedia has its own fulls...

Re: Possible to share a library to multiple machines?
It seems to me the only way to do this right is to have new PediaServer app, which does all DB I/O, while the individual Pedia programs talk to the server, instead of performing file I/O directly (obviously, this would be an optional setup). Count me in as someone who would love to use such a beast....

Re: IMDB not finding some movies; not loading some casts
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0330307/ Actor credits don't load from IMDB. True. But the cast list seems a bit strange on IMDb, since there are only actor names... maybe somethings wrong with their data This is a continuing problem for me -- there are documentaries, obscure arty stuff etc. where no c...

BB Code off in News on Bruji forum
When posting/editing replies on this forum's "News" section, BB code (and smilies) are off no matter what your user control panel setting. Works fine here in bug reports.

Re: Pocketpedia2
[quote="Nora"]Obviously we wouldn't simply take Amazon away and leave the Pedias with nothing - we'd replace Amazon with something better and more reliable, such as our own database. Which is why going 'Amazon-free' would take quite some time since the database and its interface have to be...

Re: IMDB not finding some movies; not loading some casts
I never tried the director thing before, I just did because the title search wasn't working.
I suspect that the characters in the third movie didn't have names.
I entered the complete title: À l’origine
if it showed up on the list, I can't find it.

Re: PocketPedia 2 is in the App Store!
@weirded76 Will it be possible to use Pocketpedia 1 with the new version (4.5.4) of dvdpedia ? Will Pocketpedia 1 continue to do a full sync? The new versions will take out the Amazon info as well for the old Pocketpedia, in fact by default on a new install the Pedias won't sync with the old Pocket...

Re: PocketPedia Update
Actually now that I look at it this should be very easy -- RedLaser attaches to the email a file called raw-barcodes.txt containing exactly that.Ted wrote:For extra credit, Bruji can automate that process and set up a script to scrape the UPCs from the RedLaser emails.

Re: PocketPedia Update
Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere: Any chances of adding barcode scanning to a future PocketPedia version? I'm sure you've seen the RedLaser iPhone app, and on the iPhone 3GS it works remarkably well. Second suggestion -- iPhone remote for DVDPedia in full screen mode. That would be AWESOME!...

Re: Playing EyeTV recordings
No I don't. PokeEye (& also Snatch) the iPhone based EyeTV remotes I use don't support EyeTV fullscreen menus. I did try to put EyeTV in fullscreen manually before I launched DVDPedia but that didn't help.
