DVDpedia 4.6.8 & recent OS X versions, including Mavericks?

I've held onto DVDpedia 4.6.8 for a while now, and have also stayed with Snow Leopard, for various reasons. For DVDpedia, it's completely due to the Amazon mess. I still want to use the Amazon lookup without the bizarre complex nonsense that Amazon now makes you do. I have over a thousand DVDs in my...

Re: Slowdown in development, or just in releases?

I agree completely with Keith. Bruji is absolutely in a class all by itself as far as customer service and feedback is concerned. And I'm thrilled to see that 4.6 has just been released, and that there's a lot more in development for the future. Honestly, I'm not sure I could even come up with a fea...

Re: Slowdown in development, or just in releases?

Thank you, Alex. I'm very glad to hear it. I guess my #3 was circling around the issue, which sounds like longer beta development cycles and fewer official point releases. I haven't made a habit of following the beta news. And while I was informed about the Amazon problem with mobile apps, I've been...

Slowdown in development, or just in releases?

It seems like updates to the Pedias have slowed down substantially, from about every month in the last couple years, to--well, the last one was mid-January. Does this reflect: 1) a stamping out of persistent bugs, a general leveling-off of the feature set, and an overall contentment with the product...

Re: Counter for selected DVDs

Is there something so wrong with this request that it's never gotten a reply?

Re: Counter for selected DVDs

Did this ever get implemented? If so, how do I find it? This would REALLY be helpful, and it's an odd feature not to have. I know I can look at Statistics and figure it out from there, but can't it just be an optional preference for the status bar? I'd think it would be very easy to implement. Thanks!

Re: Drag file to link doesn't work

I didn't have a chance to check out the Beta, but I've just upgraded to 4.3.0, and sure enough, the drags from the Covers folder work perfectly now! Thanks very much for changing this.

Drag file to link doesn't work

In the Table view, with the Info view turned on, I know that I should be able to drag a file to the gray title bar in the Info view, have the cursor turn into a curved arrow, and drop a link to a file there. And I can make that work, when the file is located in most places. But I store back covers o...

Bruji home page messed up on non-Safari browsers

I read in another thread that you're modifying the web site to be resolution independent. I just wanted to let you know that the Bruji home page gets severely messed up when displayed by a browser that isn't Safari. In Firefox on my Mac and in both Firefox and IE on my PC at work, the layout gets ma...

Just to clarify, it's a response from a DVDpedia user, not from anyone at Bruji. Conor or Nora are from Bruji. I was just voicing my opinion as a longtime customer who wants to see the company succeed and the software's market share grow.

With previews of the 3-years-in-the-making update of that other wood-grain collection application starting to surface (it's Leopard-only), I would think the one and only thing that Bruji should be working on is improving the bar-code iSight scanning. I've read the "preview" of DL on AppleI...

The guy who wrote the original TUAW blog entry, Victor Agreda Jr, has posted a comment tonight (45th in the comment thread) that says that TUAW is open to doing a "bakeoff" type post that includes the pedias. He also writes: "If the developers of Pedia or Bruji or *anything* else woul...

It's just like iPhoto -- hold down the Option key when you start DVDpedia. The first time, you'll be asked to create another library. To switch from one library to the other in the future, just hold down the Option key when opening the program, and you can choose between existing libraries.

Look, I love the Pedias (especially DVDPedia) and have been a happy owner for more than a year, with over 900 DVDs entered. And I bought a $20 CueCat off eBay to make scanning easy (I had an old Mac with no webcam at the time). But I would think that this iSight issue would be a HUGE deal for new cu...
