Thanks, Nora. That worked.
I think the apostrophe had nothing to do with closing the window, after all - it was me hitting return afterwards. My error! .

DVDPedia... filling in the release date
DVDPedia is doing some weird things. I filled in the release days for a DVD as 2011, and it auto-filled in May, 2011 for some reason. I then edited that, and put an apostrophe before 2011, assuming that would make it read correctly, but that just closes the entry window entirely for some reason. Is ...

Search in DVDpedia can't find Yesasia
When I click on "Add" and then click on the magnifying glass to the left and choose "Yes Asia" (which should be Yesasia, by the way... one word) to search under, I can type in the title of ANY movie and the program instantly comes up with "There are no matches for _____, Ple...

Dvdpedia - Direct data entry
Hi, Well, I FINALLY got a new Mac, so I was able to purchase the latest version of DVDPedia. Everything's running fine (though, frankly, I don't see much difference from the old version) - but one thing doesn't seem to be working as it did. When I click on a "cell" (for example, to type in...

Re: IMDB typo?
Sadly, no. Still no Imdb. When I click the gear in the lower right hand corner (to add more information from one of the external sources) most of the time the program won't search. Here's the console message: 2011-06-09 08:25:49.176 DVDpedia[1011] -JSONValue failed. Error trace is: ( NSError "U...

Re: IMDB typo?
Indeed, the new Beta doesn't change anything. I tried again. It looked like it did something the first time I went to update an entry with Imdb, but after that I once again just got the wheel of doom. Here's the last few console entries, that seem to relate to DVDPedia. Hopefully something will ring...

Re: IMDB typo?
This is really frustrating. I reverted back to 4.6.4, and IMDB once again shows in the search menus. I now see the little white cube you were talking about that gives me options to download additional IMDB information. HOWEVER... it doesn't work. And not just IMDB... now NOTHING works. It doesn't ma...

Re: IMDB typo?
I'm sorry. I'm still confused. I don't see a little white cube. Here's a screenshot of what I'm seeing:

Re: IMDB typo?
Oh, no. I can't even find anything that says "plug-in menu." The choices along the top are DVDpedia / File / Edit / Advanced / View / Window / Help None of them has anything like "plug-ins" as a selection. Along the top of the main DVDpedia window it simply says Add / Delete / Ed...

Re: IMDB typo?
Beta 67 doesn't work, either.
The local data folder was empty, so it's not that.
I opened up the console and then ran DVDpedia, but nothing appeared in the console. I have limited experience using this... am I dong something wrong?
I did download 4.6.4 and imdb is back, by the way.

Re: IMDB typo?
I downloaded the program, trashed the old ones and installed it from the disc image. No difference. I then re-downloaded Beta 58 (which was the workaround Conor suggested to me on the previous page) and ran that and... well, it's no longer a workaround*. IMDB doesn't appear either when I try and add...

Re: IMDB typo?
The problem isn't in a specific search - it's that imdb has vanished from my menu, both if I try and "add" a movie, and in the "sites" menu under preferences. Strangely, installing the update (in addition to putting a new copy of DVDpedia in my applications folder) also modified ...
