DVDpedia: can't open linked VIDEO_TS folders anymore
DVDpedia 6.0.1 macOS 10.13.6 (17G11023) VLC 3.0.8 Vetinari (Intel 64bit) Dropping the folders on VLC manually works fine. Did defaults write com.bruji.dvdpedia "VLC for VIDEO_TS" -bool YES in Terminal. Tried DVDPlayer.scpt with an appropriate URL as well, which starts VLC with the movie. (...

Re: Option to use VLC instead of Apple's DVD Player in DVDpe
If you double click it, it will open Script Editor and you can try running the script from there. Replace "FILE_PATH" with the path to the Video_TS in quotes. Something like "/Movies/WALL-E/VIDEO_TS". If you then press the run button, it should report an error if any of why it's...

Re: Option to use VLC instead of Apple's DVD Player in DVDpe
Just tried the above, doesn't work here (anymore?).
After doing the terminal command DVDpedia opens VLC, but the movie/DVD doesn't open and the playlist is empty.
Manually dropping VIDEO_TS-folders into VLC still works.
DVDpedia 5.5.1
VLC 2.2.4 Weatherwax (Intel 64bit)
macOS 10.12.3

DVDpedia: HTML export and links
I don't want to actually link to the files from the exported HTML, I just want to have the "place" where the corresponding file resides in readable form. So, I put this in my html template: <!--IFlinks <ul> [linksBegin]<li>[link:url]</li> [linksEnd] </ul> ENDlinks--> All my DVDpedia entrie...

Re: Question to all: Media Center solution?
Felt like posting an update: http://www.tuaw.com/2010/11/24/airplay-and-ios-4-2-combine-for-air-video-tv-playback-demonstrat/ That is so cool. Now I'm waiting for an open source/cydia app with that functionality. That would bring my Apple-TV-2-DVDpedia-media-center much closer :) Kinda cruel though,...

Good point.sjk wrote:[…] iTunes automatically marking a video as watched when I don't want it to be. And with EyeTV marking recordings as watched simply by editing them. Ugh.

Hehe. Maybe a plugin? Or could it be done by AppleScript?

Re: Question to all: Media Center solution?
VLC for iPad, with similar hardware to the new Apple TV, has no trouble supporting MPEG-2 decoding/playback. Hm, I googled for that and only found that it won't play VIDEO_TS and won't stream videos. How I understand it the videos must be on the iPads internal memory? And, as it seems, the VLC-guys...

Re: Linking movie files to DVDpedia
Fantastic
And now that all my files are linked: is there a way to set the date in the "last seen"-field automatically, each time I open a linked file?

Re: Question to all: Media Center solution?
Because the AppleTV is a closed platform we can officially support it. If that's "can't": I know that  My post wasn't meant to be a feature request. Even if the new Apple TV was open, I guess its hardware can't ever decode MPEG2. The great programmers at Para9.com have done an excel...

Question to all: Media Center solution?
Now that I have all my movies on a HD, linked in DVDpedia and installed RemoteBuddy, I have a working media center solution on my Mac. Now I would like to take it to the living room. I already have a 2G AppleTV, but this is almost useless, as it won't play my VIDEO_TS folders and doesn't have DVDped...

Linking movie files to DVDpedia
How does the linking in DVDpedia work exactly?
I'm asking because I just put all my movies on an external HD. Does DVDpedia save the links in the form of "Volumes/Name_of_HD"? So, that when I transfer my database to a new Mac, the links will still work?

Apple "Backup": Where are the QuickPicks?
Hi,
I have a new Mac and just got Apples "Backup" from my iDisk. I want to mainly use it to back up my DVDPedia but "your" QuickPicks are gone?!

Re: Numbering my movies
First: Thanks for all the quick replies. You folks code one of the best Mac apps, fix bugs and still find time to hang around in the forum. You must be some kind of super heroes. Like X-Men or the Justice League 8) DVDpedia will not second guess what you tell it should be the next ID. I just noticed...
