Matt? or "Thanks, can you help me tweak your javascript?"

First of all I'd like to thank Matt for contributing his award winning dvdpedia Info View template. Nice design and functionality. But there is one thing i wish I could change, so if Matt is around and wouldn't mind, or if someone else with javascript chops would like to help .... This concerns the ...

Working with Cover Art [dvdpedia]

How about a contextual menu to edit the cover art in Preview or some other chosen application? Even better how about a command to automatically trim about 4 pixels from the edges? HaHa! It bugs me when the cover art has a pixel or two border because it wasn't trimmed properly, especially in Cover vi...

Re: Help with Text Encoding and URLs?

Doh! I told you I was playing in the deep end here! LMAO!!! I guess I thought being in a field was the only way to call something using the 'keys'. [key:title] ... or actually, it's pretty clear I wasn't doing a lot of thinking. :) This is a much better solution. Thanks, Conor, sorry for wasting you...

Re: Help with Text Encoding and URLs?

I don't think I'm following and/or I don't think I described my issue clearly. First of all, I don't have any old links that need updating as far as I know. Before yesterday if I had dragged a link to dvdpedia, I would test it and if it didn't work I fixed it. Now you made it so they just work, how ...

Re: originalTitle AKA WTF?

Conor, fyi, here's where I'm coming from on this one: When I drag an IMDb URL to dvdpedia, it puts the original title into Title Field. In my case anything that is non-english, like, Bom yeoreum gaeul gyeoul geurigo bom for example, is troublesome. So, now, I copy that and paste it into the Original...

Re: Help with Text Encoding and URLs?

OK we can probably skip all that stuff I just posted. I think all I need to know, in order to get close to what I want, is to figure out why, or how to compensate for, why dvdpedia throws up, for example, The%2520Usual%2520Suspects instead of just The%20Usual%20Suspects <!--IFcustom4<div class="...

Re: Help with Text Encoding and URLs?

Conor, I am stunned by your responses to my posts. In this day and age, responses are rare, but "fixes" to quirks are a whole order of magnitude rare-er. :o In light of that, I am embarrassed to inquire if there is a solution to Bummer #1 above, that is, hijacking those escape characters o...

I must be dreaming

Last night I was messing around in dvdpedia and encountered a couple oddities with my database. It had been imported from Delicious Monster so the entries didn't have locale information, consequently the listmania feature wasn''t working for me. So I began building my own lists, dragging urls from w...

Help with Text Encoding and URLs?

This is probably me and my settings but ... I have a custom field rigged up to search wikipedia: <!--IFcustom1<div class="field"><div class="title">[translate:custom1]:</div> <div class="text"><ahref="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search?search=[key:title]&q...

Re: My Listmania (in DVDPedia) isn't working anymore

UPDATE v2.0 Ah ha! ... it appears that the amazon redirect url has to be in the URL field in the Add/Edit window for the Listmania to work. I'm not sure why, but I guess there is a reason for that? My reason for not wanting this ... in case you have a better idea ... is that I have tweaked my Info ...

Re: My Listmania (in DVDPedia) isn't working anymore

B000F4LPJ6 Battle Royale 6300214826 Apocalypse Now B000N4SHOO Breaking and Entering but here's what I noticed: If I open up Add/Edit and delete the ASIN that's in there and then update using Amazon US, sometimes it will work. I think it depends on whether the item in question has more than one entry...

My Listmania (in DVDPedia) isn't working anymore

I'm not sure why, but now I always just get the menu sheet that says "No Listmania Found // There are no lists containing ..." Could this be because I don't get advanced info from Amazon? That would be odd because I can go to the amazon website via the Amazon Link. And I can see that there...

Thanks, Nora. I got that part of the tweaking. I was wondering about getting into the code part of it like you can do with info and export. So that if I add an AKA custom field I could then tell it to go get that information from the IMDb ... ... but that begs my other question, as part of OPTION #1...

Check your auto-fill

Something to try. Check your auto-fill. If you have any dupes in there, I'll bet they match up with the funky alphas. I had a similar issue, I went there and now all is well.
